Sanal Market / KVK
KVK, the leader in the Turkish mobile phone market, currently services customers with over 1000 offices. It chose VeriPark for its Sanal Market Project deployed to inform customers about the company, products and services.
Situation
KVK is the leader in the Turkish mobile phone market and also distributes other electronic devices as well as SIM cards. With 1000 sales offices, it has the widest distribution network in Turkey. Together with the GSM operating services of Turkcell and its subsidiaries, KVK distributes mobile telecommunication and data products for leading global brands. In today's global economy, companies continuously strive to develop alternative channels to drum up new sales and remain competitive. More and more, firms are realizing that success in the new economy will be determined by the extent to which physical and virtual channels can be merged. E-Commerce continues to expand, driving additional sales revenue and complimenting traditional sales channels. In KVK's case, e-commerce represents an avenue to increase revenue without making additional capital intensive investments in high cost sales offices.

Solution
KVK sought to increase sales with Sanal Market, its customer oriented e-commerce project. KVK utilized a VeriPark built web site to add sales by informing customers about products and instilling confidence in customers that extremely high service levels would be provided. This web site also routed customers, not interested in online shopping, to the most appropriate KVK store. Currently, various items ranging from mobile phones to laptops are sold online. In addition, leveraging VeriPark's Veritical B2C module, KVK Sanal Market features "Intelligent Search" and "Product Comparison" features. "Intelligent Search" enables customers to find a desired product quickly and to read product specifications prior to purchase, accessing detailed technical analysis. The "Product Comparison" feature enables customers to compare several products and find the right one based on individual needs. In the case of KVK, these features have proven to be key ingredients in driving sales.

Another key component in successful e-commerce implementations is site content and ease with which site content can be updated. The Sanal Market project site features a content management system allowing site administrators to update not only the product catalogs, but also site news and content. Administrators can also track sales through the site administration module. Finally, at each phase of the order, the system sends an automatic personalized e-mail to the customer, keeping the customer informed about the status of his or her order.

Sanal Market turns KVK surfers turn into KVK buyers. As customers access comprehensive product information and advanced functionality, they become more and more confident that they are receiving a quality of service that meets their needs.

Solution Overview
Industry: Retail
Solution: e-Commerce
Products Used: Veritical
Benefits:
High performance and secure e-commerce infrastructure for electronic goods retailing.
Challenges:
Convincing the buyers to actually buy electronic goods (mostly computers and cell phones) through e-commerce. Electronic goods consumers are less wiling to buy because of higher product price ranges.
Make sure the consumers can collect enough information in the site about the goods they are interested in, even let the consumers compare the products as this will be the only way they are convinced.
Content needs to be updated often and generally by less technical people. Need a mechanism to check and update content.
