We are looking for a Release Specialist. He/She will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of delivering software products and/or updates, ensuring a smooth transition from development to production. Collaborating with various teams, he/she will plan and schedule releases, enforce quality standards, and minimize risks. Effective communication, documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives are key aspects of their role. Ultimately, the Release Manager plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality software solutions while maintaining the stability of the production environment.

What you will be doing

  • Manage and document the release processes during projects and client roll outs.
  • Coordinate release schedules and communicate to project teams, work with the Dev Managers and developers to package and deploy releases internally.
  • Implement release note templates and guides, plan and perform deployments for client project releases, work with the BAU team to assist with the packaging and deployment of patches/fixes/updates to clients.
  • Perform and support out-of-hour releases when required.
  • Facilitate cross-department coordination of release management functions.
  • Track and maintain products-wide release calendar.
  • Measure release cadence and effectiveness using common metrics across the entire software portfolio.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Create common standards and templates for release rollout processes and maintain the production deployment run book.
  • Ensure the hardware availability according to the standards specified in software architecture design document.
  • Release Reporting.
  • Create risk assessment plans and impact reports with mitigation plan options.
  • Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

What we are looking for

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience in release management or project management.
  • Diploma / Degree in IT, Computer Science or related departments.
  • Banking experience will be preferred.
  • Any certification will be preferred.
  • Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365, including customization, configuration, and integration aspects.
  • Knowledge of .NET framework and technologies.
  • Understanding of mobile development technologies, best practices and application deployment process.
  • In depth knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, Source-control, CI/CD pipelines, semantic software versioning and build/release processes.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Ability to create and implement effective release strategies and deployment plans.
  • Proven project management skill and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate coordination between development, testing, and operations teams.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating and managing release notes, technical implementation plans (TIP), rollback planning, user guides, and other relevant documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate and comprehensive release documentation.
